Yep, I think Billy Connolly sums it up pretty well there. I am indeed, fellow Giant Bombers, going away. Rest assured this is only temporary, and I will be back in a week or two. I just thought I'd better alert some of you, just to make sure you don't start mourning my sudden departure from the site :P 
 
In all seriousness, it's my girlfriend's birthday on Friday, and I'm heading back to her place to spend a week or so with her family as part of her birthday celebrations. While I'm there I'm going to have very limited access to the internet. I'll probably pop on the site every couple of days or so just to catch up with industry news, but I certainly won't be around here long enough to produce any substantial content, so there won't be any blogging activity from me for a little while. There won't be much gaming going on either, as I'll be leaving all my consoles here in the flat (imposing an Xbox 360 on my girlfriend's parents' living room TV probably isn't the most appropriate way for a guest to behave). Thankfully, I finished up Fable II on Saturday, so I won't be leaving anything unfinished in my absence. Huh? You didn't read my write-up for Fable II? Then you'd better get on it, son! 
 
Gaming won't be completely dried up for me, though. I'm planning on taking my PSP and playing through Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker while I'm there, should I end up getting any spare time. I've played the first few hours and it seems like a game that's built with short sessions in mind, so I should be able to squeeze in the occasional mission or two. My girlfriend's family also own a Wii, so who knows, I might even get dragged into a round or two of Wii Sports Resort one evening. For the most part, though, I expect it'll be social functions, meeting extended family and helping out around the house. When I return, there's only a couple of weeks before I start my final year of University, so I'm going to be pretty busy from now right through til Christmas. That being said, I'm definitely going to try and keep these blogs ticking over. It's crazy to think it's been over two years since I started carving out this tiny corner of the internet and filling it with all these words. I love writing these things, and it's incredibly cool that I've managed to pick up this small following here on Giant Bomb. I say this a lot, but I'm really grateful to all of you for your readership and comments. Without them, I would have stopped keeping this blog a long time ago. 
 
A final message to those of you who've been following my 'Enduring Final Fantasy VII' series. I was planning on writing up Episode Twelve for you before I left. Unfortunately, things got in the way and I wound up not having enough time to do that. I'm truly sorry for that. Like I said, I'll be taking my PSP with me, so I'll endeavour to put myself in a position where can come back with a shit-load of content planned out and ready to write up. Once again, I'm sorry. Thank you all for your understanding and your patience.
