An Introductory Blog

Hello everyone, and welcome to my Giant Bomb Blog. I figured I'd use my first entry as an introduction to myself and my gaming tastes.

My name is Dan Kempster, better known among friends as DanK. I'm eighteen years old and live in the UK. I have a number of interests, gaming being an obvious one considering I'm using this site. Others include playing cricket and darts, listening to and playing music, writing a combination of songs and prose, and spending time with my friends. That's right, I consider myself to be both a pretty serious gamer and a semi-social human being! :P

I've been playing video games since I was about four or five but I only really started getting into games seriously at the age of nine when my parents bought me my own PlayStation. Being a fan of fantasy-themed stuff, I love RPGs and the Final Fantasy series in particular. I also enjoy playing action/adventure games such as Grand Theft Auto, Metal Gear Solid and God Of War. Between them, these two genres make up most of my game collection, but that doesn't mean I'm limited to liking just them. I also own a few FPS games, racing games, sports games and beat-'em-ups. Pretty much the only two main genres of games I don't play are strategy games and puzzle games, but in summary I'm likely to enjoy anything if it's well done.

I think that pretty much sums me up. Expect to hear more from me in future.
