Backlog 365: Day 23 - Sherlock Holmes: The Mystery of the Persian Carpet

For Backlog 365 I plan on playing one game on my backlog everyday this year and write about it. For each game I will decide if I want to put it on my "Shelved" list (games that I plan to come back to and play in depth) or put it on the "Retired" list (games that I will delete or sell and move on with my life).

A while ago I bought a package with all the games in the Sherlock Holmes series. My wife and I had been playing the Sherlock Holmes Consulting Detective board/story game and really dug it, so I thought that these games might be something we could play together. My wife does not play video games but will occasionally join me and get invested in something – recently, Her Story and Contradiction. I meant to check out these games to see if they would be work as cooperative games, but never got around to it.

The Case of the Persian Rug is not going to work as a cooperative game. Although, I’m pretty sure that some of the later games in the series will be more promising. However, will I, myself, play this game. I think I will. Honestly, it is not a good game, but I will still play it. It is pretty much some picture hunt mixed with some simple puzzles, but hell I like that crap. And, I’m a sucker for Sherlock Holmes.
