PART 2! Let's Actually Fucking Blog

Okay so 2016 is coming to an end. Everybody else is coming in with their GOTY lists - I wish i could do the same but the truth is most of what i played in 2016 has been older games and having just played through to the end of a couple of the 2016 games a top 10 list is just not possible.

So. For whatever reason here is a top 10 list of albums you should be listening to if you haven't already!

3. Lou Reed & John Cale - Songs For Drella
4. Childish Gambino - Awaken My Love
5. Leonard Cohen - You Want it Darker
6. Frank Zappa - Burnt Weeny Sandwich
7. Kenny Burrell - Midnight Blue
8. Kid Cudi - Passion, Pain & Demon Slayin'
9. Funkadelic - Standing On The Verge Of Getting It on
10. Big L - Lifestyles Ov Da Poor And & Dangerous

Okay so there probably is a little something for everybody here.

Alexander is a really relaxing folk'y sounding album with lots of great&sad vibes throughout.

David Bowie's Blackstar is the legend's last album, i won't say anything about it, but it has a dark vibe throughout - keep in mind the man died two days after the album came out.

The Lou Reed album with John Cale both from the band This Velvet Underground is a concept album dedicated to Andy Warhol - Their mentor and producer throughout This velvet underground period

The Childish album surprised the shit out of me. having not really paid attention to anything he has ever done, he always seemed as an okay actor, an okay rapper but nothing exceptional - on this album he delivers his most creative and personal work yet. Really great album with a few songs that maybe shouldn't have made it. Anyway this album needs to be given a chance.
