Jurassic Park

1. Jurassic Park

I was really disappointed in this game. It is a barely interactive experience that might have been fine if the quality of the story was higher or if the control system was now dreadful. A game that requires 65 million years more development. 2/5

Need for Speed: The Run

2. Need for Speed: The Run

Can you get from 100th to 1st before you get to New York to win the race and settle your debt with the mob? Unfortunately it is a great premise, poorly executed. Overall it was a fun ride, but not as fun as I pictured it could be. I was hoping for something less linear, less rigid in format and more like the Cannonball Run. 3/5

Grim Fandango

3. Grim Fandango

Decided to dive back into my love for adventure games by replaying one of the best. The voice work, the atmosphere and some of the best characters in video games. 5/5

The Longest Journey

4. The Longest Journey

Great Story, a well realised world and one of the best characters in gaming history. I had a great time playing this epic adventure in the worlds of Stark and Arcadia. 5/5

The Beast Within: A Gabriel Knight Mystery

5. The Beast Within: A Gabriel Knight Mystery

The GK series was one of my favourites back in the 90's so replaying this was a walk down memory lane. The rich historical storyline and real world locations draw you into this game and keep you hooked right until the end. I know more about Wagner and Ludwig II of Bavaria than I ever though I would need to know. Not a huge fan of the FMV style, preferring the original GK game to this. However it was well done in it's day. 5/5

Shadows of the Damned

6. Shadows of the Damned

Absolutely bonkers plot and a shit load of dick jokes... For that reason however this was a HELL of a lot of fun. The actual shooting etc were fairly standard and the camera was a pain in the ass, but your wise cracking partner with his British accent and the fabulous music made for a great game that nobody played. 4/5

Resistance 3

8. Resistance 3

Possibly the best in the series. It had a real old world war II resistance vibe mixed in with the sci-fi tropes of the alien invasion. Fabulous weapons, some great set pieces and a pretty decent plot make for an excellent shooter. 4/5

Riven: The Sequel to Myst

9. Riven: The Sequel to Myst

Sequel to one of the best selling PC games of all time. Similar to the first game it is flip screen, beautiful vacant world populated by obscure puzzles. Ehh it was ok. 3/5

Portal 2

10. Portal 2

Replayed one of the best games of last year. Fantastic puzzles and a cast of some of the best voice work and characters in video gaming. SPACE 5/5

Maniac Mansion: Day of the Tentacle

11. Maniac Mansion: Day of the Tentacle

My favourite game of all time and more fun than a jumpsuit full of weasels. 5/5
