Before we go any further, DR SBAITSO. Technically not a game, but a computer program. I remember spending hours on Dr SBAITSO when I was very young, trying to have a proper conversation with 'him' and getting very annoyed when he spouted nonsense or changed the subject randomly. SBAITSO stood for Sound Blaster Acting Intelligent Text to Speech Operator, and was distributed with my dad's Sound Blaster Pro sound card, although apparently the program still works on modern computers regardless of whether you're using Sound Blasters or not.

My parents spent hours on it and I spent hours on it when my parents were ... away. I could never get past the big tunnel with the angry alien with two eyestalks though. I always died. Bear in mind I was about four or five at the time.
While I did in fact play the rest of the original CK trilogy I was more drawn to the Goodbye Galaxy series, including:
I never got around to playing this when I was four, mainly because we only had 1, 4, 6 & 3.5 at the time. However, I had plenty of time during boring college lessons to complete the entire series.
This was BY FAR my favourite Commander Keen game. Still now I get to the copy protection part, yell downstairs to my dad "WHAT'S THE ONE THAT LOOKS LIKE AN EYEBALL IN A CANDY WRAPPER" and he'll yell back "ORBATRIX". I've still got the original manual.. somewhere.
This game was peculiar to me. I think it was mainly due to the fact that the enemies didn't stay dead or knocked out after you had hit them with your ammunition...
I've played this game SO much. So much in fact that I am capable of beating Death Tower with my eyes closed. The code to that level is ANTIC, by the by. In case you couldn't be arsed with playing through the whole "doing random and increasingly dangerous jobs to earn credits" part of the game.
Not long after my dad installed it, my dad UNinstalled it again. It was pretty shite for a sequel to Flashback.
Few can forget the epic guitar solos in the opening level of DOOM. Likewise, few can forget:
Notable for the third boss character being Hitler in a giant mech suit. Although if you look at RtCW the original seems kind of lame in comparison now.
A topdown, flying, shooting game. I could never get past the first level, maybe because I was too obsessed with the music and the pretty lights and noises. Speaking of which, I covered the main theme: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZCJQaCo6GiE
