I played about 70 games this year, these seem like the best ones. The first two are very strong favourites but the order gets a little arbitrary after that.

Obviously not released this year but I tried this back in April and got waaay into it. It's got the trappings of a lame zombie survival thing but you're mainly just cruising around a goofy open world, looting houses and getting up to some emergent bullshit. It's fun!
I liked this FH less than the others, but still quite a lot. My suggestion for the next one is to have more good ideas, and fewer bad ones.
I was a little wary going into this not knowing anything about Digimon, but the story and characters totally stand up on their own.
Not the most exciting list of songs and features but Rock Band is Rock Band and it's my most-played game this year.
I suspect this is only here because it's the last thing I played and it'll be supplanted by one of the big November games when I actually get around to them. But it's still really good!
