Mass Effect 2

1. Mass Effect 2

"Shepard." - Grunt The first game I loved. This game I want to marry. Fixing most of the stuff hated and killing a few that I loved. Making this game a lot smoother around this time. Great story, great characters, great side quest, great little details. The 1st one had some characters I wasn't really connected with but thanks to Loyalty missions it adds more character.. to well... the characters. Improved shooting and quick buttons to send of your power and those of your teammates improved combat beyond the stopping time every 10 secs. Which I still did but not less of.

Super Street Fighter IV

2. Super Street Fighter IV

I owned it for PS3/Xbox my total time put into both versions? 140 hours. The most played Multiplayer I've ever played. Well balanced. Last year SF4 took 2 in my top 10 and this year doesn't change that. It's more of the same from last year but SUPER!

Bayonetta

3. Bayonetta

At first I was turned off by jokingly calling it "Japan the fetish: the videogame" I have never seen a game so over the top that I sit there in a brilliant puzzled state yelling "She just didn't use her middle finger to start up a motorcycle while it somersaulted through the air during 5 massive explosions." The story is ridiculous, but the action engine that Hideki Kamiya and his crew put together usurps his past work on Devil May Cry and pushes it past his rival Tomonobu Itagaki's Ninja Gaiden. Bayonetta moves at a break neck speed and is very punishing but once something clicks in your head about the flow of combat you are set. Can Ninja Gaiden take back the action crown? The New team ninja will let us know.

Red Dead Redemption

4. Red Dead Redemption

This game was pretty enjoyable. Everything seemed to work. A few weird glitches here and there made it funny. Never play the multiplayer because I was all about the Single player. Voice acting is great.. characters are get.. nice ending.. horses are fun... shooting is fun.

Battlefield: Bad Company 2

5. Battlefield: Bad Company 2

The only FPS that didn't drive me nuts. I wasn't a big fan of MW2 mulitplayer or story. The funny thing.. BC2 has almost the same story. HAHA but it also has "characters" Sure they are archetypes but that doesn't stop them from being kinda lovable. The sad part is BC1 they were more care free and funny. In BC1 I also loved the whole wide open battlefield. This one kinda turned into a corridor shooter but not in a MW2 way but in a Baby Halo way. Now on the multiplayer. This is it. I love team based shooting. MW2 has the lone wolf syndrome but BC2 has the we need to work as a team built into it. I never really felt cheated in this game on kills. The game has great "Battlefield" moments from you and a friend in a tank destroying tons of opponents while your team secures a M-Com. Love the choking points that can come up sometimes. BC2 does it big.

Just Cause 2

6. Just Cause 2

Another game that is ridiculous in story, but lovably campy. I didn't care about the story but this is a sandbox at it's best. Locomotion is one of the best things beside surfing a jet into a giant gas tank then hook shooting on to jeep you've tagged with explosives and so on. Had some much fun blowing up this world. Also Beautiful and MASSIVE WORLD. So much to do. I wish they did a "Keys to the city" mode like Crackdown had.

Castlevania: Lords of Shadow

7. Castlevania: Lords of Shadow

all the reviews were like "it's not that castlevanina you remember" Seeing it as a bad thing. Guess what.. i've been playing the same castlevania since symphony of the night on PSX and more since the original NES one. Bump all the stuff that came before. Noone talked about the polish this game had from it's combat system to it's graphics. I love they it keep a sense of humor also. I'll miss Alucard, Soma and all the other character but I'll get over it. It's like God of War but it's not. One thing i hated about God of War was Kratos, He's a dick.

Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit

Dead Rising 2

9. Dead Rising 2

Vanquish

10. Vanquish

Someone finally gets it in Japan. That someone? Shinji Mikami the same guy that brought you the 3rd person shooter stable of the over the shoulder camera. Vanquish is the first real attempt not to just do cover based 3rd person shooting but to make it feel like this idea only Japan could have thought of... "Make it faster" Like other Platinum games they have EX clover studio ex Capcom dudes working for them. It makes me wonder why did Capcom let these guys leave? Viewtiful Joe, Okami, RE4, DMC1 and the list goes on with what they created but back to the game. It's Japanese halo in terms of story but the ARS suits abilities set it apart from that. You have the best things about some of Japan action tropes such as Kamen Rider, Casshern, Golgo 13, Gundam and so on. The kinetic speed will keep you coming back. I'm currently playing the challenge modes like crazy.
