I wasn't expecting much when this was announced but was blown away once I played it. Best Single-player FPS I have played in YEARS. I love the alternate WW2 history theme. Fun, frantic gameplay.
Another game I wasn't planning to play but I'm glad I did. Creative Assembly nailed it! Make no mistake, this game is hardcore. It's difficult, anxiety-inducing and exciting. It also simply drips with atmosphere. I've never come across another game that creates a true sense of place like this one does.
This is the greatest oldschool game anyone has made in years. An old idea blessed with great design, some vital modern sensibilities and loads of charm.
Mario Kart 8 is a no-brainer purchase for any Wii U owner. In one word the game is FUN. It's more of what you've come to expect from Nintendo; a highly-polished iteration of one of their trademark franchises.
A game that seamlessly integrates everything you'll love about an open world with a great story and meaningful RPG progression. You are well rewarded for going after tougher enemies. The nemesis system works better than I thought possible.
I might've spent the most time with this game of all of ones I have listed, but it's also the one I have the most issues with. I found the gameplay addicting but once I had played through all of the missions (which doesn't take long) I found myself putting the game back on the shelf. Even with the few issues I had, I still had some of the most fun playing it this year.
This game is just plain and simple fun. A nice change of pace compared to most games out there. I loved the frenetic traversal system and the vibrant color-filled playground.
An unexpected gem. This is indeed the game that South Park fans have been waiting for. The look of the game is spot on, it feels like you're just watching an episode of the show. Combat is fun and keeps you on your toes--though it is pretty simple.
