Starting up a list of the best games of 2020 I've played to track games since this year feels like it's taken forever. The list can be considered a work in progress and subject to change/updates.

Although I'm no stranger to rogue-lights, usually even the ones I really get into, I'm done with them after a number of hours or after my first clear. Hades is the first rogue-light that has kept me engaged beyond this point (I think I'm currently at about 15 clears) and a lot of that has to do with the items Super Giant has been nailing for years...story, art, and music pulled me along for the ride and made Hades my favorite game of the year.
I had low expectations on Streets of Rage 4, and it getting added to Game Pass on day 1 was a great surprise. I ended up giving it a try and loving it. From learning how to string together combos, catching thrown items (or catching them on their bounce back after hitting someone), I ended up loving this game and how different each of the characters played, that I've now cleared it with the majority of the characters and still have a good time when loading it up. This is up there with River City Girls as one of my favorite beat em ups.
