Lots of older games will probably end up here

The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess

1. The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess

First game of 2015 I finished and I enjoyed it quite a bit. Initially, during the first few temples I kinda felt like it lacked an identity of its own. That did change towards the back half of the game where the temples really shine and the whimsical, strange world really comes into its own. Remarkable end with some of the most fun bosses in a Zelda game for me.

Resident Evil

2. Resident Evil

Finished the HD remaster. One I always wanted to play but never got around to. Thought it held up remarkably well when you basically approach it as an adventure game. The combat is so deliberate that it doesn't feel sluggish as older action games can do. In that sense it feels surprisingly modern, though it certainly can be rough but that is completely inline with what the genre used to be. Had a lot of fun and intense moments, Crimson Heads are evil incarnate. Gonna go back as Chris.

Danganronpa: Trigger Happy Havoc

3. Danganronpa: Trigger Happy Havoc

Finally got around to do this one. Enjoyed it immensely, its very quirky and crazy. Lots of twists and turns and keeps you enticed all the way through. Eternal despair.

Devil May Cry

4. Devil May Cry

DMC 4 Special Edition on the horizon made me finally crack into the HD collection. I have played it before, but the first Devil May Cry is still a good action game. Yes its very simple compared to the endless depth of later entries but it still has fun bosses, quick action and weapons that offer enough variety to never bore you. Had a good time.

Super Mario Galaxy 2

5. Super Mario Galaxy 2

Fantastic game, really takes the first game and makes most of it better. The later levels are some of the best 3D platforming ever. Just pure joy to play.

Splatoon

6. Splatoon

Finished in terms of singleplayer, multiplayer will keep me hooked for a long time. Already spent most time with it online. Absolutely adore the game. Endlessly polished in the gameplay and just so much fun.

Hotline Miami 2: Wrong Number

7. Hotline Miami 2: Wrong Number

To me, Hotline Miami is about one thing. Combining the music, visuals and gameplay to go into an almost trancelike state and go on a murdering spree. All of that is intact in Hotline Miami 2. The soundtrack is just as good, the visuals are still as visceral and striking, and the gameplay is built upon just enough to make it all work one more time. Even if some levels will infuriate you to all hell, I still had a blast.

Ori and the Blind Forest

9. Ori and the Blind Forest

Ori is a quite standard "metroidvania" with a fantastic look and a really cool bash mechanic that makes it stand out. The look cannot be stressed enough as its one of the prettiest games I have ever seen, just jaw dropping at times.

Halo 2

10. Halo 2

As well in the Master Chief Collection, the Anniversary is a really good version of Halo 2. While it has some spots where it drags a bit, its still a solid Halo experience that is a lot of fun.

Devil May Cry 4: Special Edition

11. Devil May Cry 4: Special Edition

Still awesome.
