This is a list of long-awaited games that have either come out or are going to come out before the release of Half-Life: Episode Three/Half-Life 3. Think of it as something similar to the Duke Nukem Forever List.

Announced in 1997, Duke Nukem went through numerous engine jumps and was inevitably released in 2011, 14 years later.
Development started in 2006, and was a spin-off called Final Fantasy Versus XIII. It wasn't until 10 years later and a generation jump in consoles before it got released in 2016.
A game that was mentioned as early as 2001, went through numerous delays and console generations, and was finally released in 2013, long before Half-Life 3/Episode 3 was released.
