Ever since Silent Hill 4: The Room, the series has gone downhill in terms of sales and quality. The newer games are boring, not scary and unplayable the second time around but Shattered Memories is an exception. Although the game has no combat involved (which is incredibly stupid) and is very short, Silent Hill: Shattered Memories tells a gripping story and it's packed with good thrills.
When this game first came out, I admit that I didn't pay much attention to it just because Isaac Clarke is not in it and it's an on-rail shooter, which feels like the black sheep of the family. However, when I did get a chance to play it, I was surprised how fun it was. In fact, Dead Space: Extraction is more gripping, more engaging and even scarier than the other Dead Space games. If you own a Wii, do check it out.
