Never have I felt such impending doom in a game. It was the most thrilling experience I've had in a very long time and while I didn't get enough time to finish it yet, what I have played made it better than anything else.
I can definitely tell you that you've never played a game like Catherine before and you probably never will ever again.
Speaking of sucking a ton of time into a game, I've put 21 in here and I feel like I'm nowhere. I love that feeling of discovery and think this isn't my favourite game of the year because I don't feel like I've don't anything remarkable in the game. But is that supposed to be the point of it? I'm totally content to walk around the game world doing absolutely nothing at times and I kind of think that's an amazing feat. My biggest problem is that I don't have some sort of hyperbolic time chamber to just sit and play this game in good conscious.
This is definitely the most pure fun I had playing a game this year because it really can never ever get tiring. Tons of pick-ups, fear of death and randomly generated rooms make this something that it is easy to come back time and again. I've put almost 9 hours into the game, which, according to my Steam friends list, is twice as much as anyone else.
THE perfect blend of narrative and gameplay. Bastion was a title everyone on giant bomb was jacked to play and it did not disappoint at all. While I wanted more, I think Super Giant games took the quality over quantity debate to heart and made exactly what they felt was going to service their game properly and stuck to that.
The funniest game that I have ever played and the puzzle's weren't too bad either. A near perfect blend of narrative and gameplay put together (see bastion) that convinces you that you want to know everything about this mad ass facility.
Fuckin' Zelda, right?
Jump, shoot, explode and repeat. The game has a formula and at this point in time, is hard to look past in between the story bits. Really enjoyed this game, but it ultimately didn't live up to Uncharted 2.
Who would've ever thought that we'd get an emotionally driven story to finish off this part of the GOW trilogy? I found myself really caring about the struggle and the toil that this war has caused and really could not be happier with the way it turned out.
While Batman is an extremely fun game, a lot of it feels hollow and empty. Really loved the characterisation of the villains and the city, but something always felt off playing this game. It never took me back to what AA felt like.
