Shit year. Awful. Garbage fire. I played a lot of games to distract myself, but most of them were pile-of-shame kind of stuff. Perfect time to go back and finish Bloodborne and finally give Zone of the Enders: 2nd Runner a shot. In terms of new releases? I don’t know, man. We’ll see if we even hit 10 games here.

I had zero attachment to the original or even this franchise. This “remake” single handedly changed all that. Made me obsessed with the whole thing. Been looking for an in to FF for years, but this was the one that did it. Now I’m ALL THE WAY into it. Went back and played the original, signed up for FF XIV (in Heavensward right now), finished XV, working on XIII and X and just bought VIII. Now I can’t wait for Part 2 and XVI.
...slash Astrobot Rescue Mission, which is the best game of the generation locked behind the worst tech of any generation. Both games are just marvelous little tech demos that somehow transcend in to being proper great games. Joyous.
Duh. Almost perfect. Everyone can stop making roguelikes now. Please?
Again: duh. Never been a more perfectly timed game release.
