From FPS kings to platforming juggernauts, here is my personal list of top 5 best game companies. This list is completely based upon the amount of games I like from each studio, I don't necessarily agree with company morals.
Also keep in mind that this list is completely subjective, you do not have to agree with me on each point.

Valve has gone on to release several smash hit titles, some personal favourites include Half-Life 2 & its episodes, Portal, Left 4 Dead, Left 4 Dead 2, Portal 2 and Team Fortress 2.
A few favourites include GTA: Vice City, GTA: San Andreas and GTA IV.
The esteemed pioneers of god games, business simulation games and RPGs. Lionhead was one of the top game developers in the UK. Favourite games of mine from Lionhead include Fable, Fable II, Black & White and the Movies. Unfortunately, Microsoft decided to take all of that way from us by shutting them down in 2016 - a point which I still like to remind myself of whenever I feel like hating on MS or Xbox in general. However, as a result of Lionhead's closure, much of their games have been considered abandonware and ex-Lionhead devs have actually encouraged people to find and play their games on abandonware sites.
Favourite games include Uncharted 2, Uncharted 4 & the Last of Us.
Some favourites of mine include Sonic the Hedgehog, Sonic Generations, Shinobi and Streets of Rage 2.
