Game of the Decade (2010s)

by luneshot

At the beginning of this decade, I was still in high school.

At the end of this decade, I was in graduate school, pursuing my dreams, halfway across the country.

There were also some good videogames.

Undertale

1. Undertale

I was lucky to play Undertale only a couple days after release, before I heard anything other than "you need to play this, right now." Very few games have made me cry the way Undertale did. What a beautiful, wonderful thing, with memorable characters and perfect music.

Kerbal Space Program

2. Kerbal Space Program

Help I've fallen and I keep falling Currently at almost 1500 hours in KSP, probably more hours than I've put into any other game in my entire life except for Unreal Tournament 2004.

Minecraft

Night in the Woods

5. Night in the Woods

Gregg rulz ok I grew up in a Rust Belt city and a lot of the post-industrial decay of Possum Springs is depressingly familiar. I don't know about the ending being the greatest, but the characters are the real draw here.

Space Engine

I'm a nerd.

Outer Wilds

Unique, fascinating, hard to put down.

Subnautica

A game that gave me a feeling of discovery and tense exploration that I hadn't had since Minecraft.
