Ranking of all the Megaten games I've completed.

(PS2) Still the best persona game, and still the best version of P3. Certainly some bias on my part, but I feel it's still holds up to today's standards and is perfectly playable with some HD/widescreen mods if you're going the PC route. I've replayed it on PS2 and PC in recent years and had a great time. Best story and characters regardless on how you may feel about the gameplay. Not a fan of portable and its rewriting of the story. FES is the only "enhanced" version of a Persona game to do it right by adding an epilogue rather than forcefully injecting new characters to the existing story.
(PS2) The environment and soundtrack really sets this one apart. The quintessential SMT experience.
(PS2) (Ranking of base version cause fuck Marie; I gave up on Golden quick) Honestly, on par with Persona 3 and a perfect complementary tale. Just that I preferred the heavier storytelling in P3. Great cast, and even better memes. The game is so vibrant and happy despite all the murdering xD
(PC) solid game on all fronts, but even so... i was hoping for more from the story. some sort of hook that transcends the narrative of gaming, or even just something that got me more engaged into the story on a personal level (particularly in the first 80% of the game). My hype level was way too high after seeing the teaser 7? years ago and knowing the all star staff was going to experiment. I imagine I'll grow to appreciate the story more in time. (despite how negative i sound, obviously this game is amazing and top tier) (+Eupha best waifu)
(PS2) I really need to replay this duology, but I remember loving the unique spins on battle system.
(3DS) Has a nice cast of characters, good plot, and a solid challenge. The best "traditional" (first person view) SMT experience given its accessibility.
(3DS emulated) Aside from the end dragging on and the final boss requiring heavy grinding, was solid. Amazing characters representing both law and chaos.
(PC) Solid. Atlus did make changes to ease the bar of entry for this title, but I had no problems with their approach on it. For instance, they added buyable "cheats" (e.g., demons being able to use items, faster charge of special attack, etc.) that you can simply ignore for a more traditional experience. They also made it easier to keep a demon you like in your party thoughout your journey, with easier flexible skill progression and transfer. As for the story, I went with the new Vengeance route. The new character is my favorite by a long shot, so guessing I wouldn't have been invested in the original route given her absence. I liked how I didn't have to worry about a neutral path and could just go with the decisions I truely wanted. That said, there were still cases where I wanted to make a decision but my party members decided to go the other way and I had to tag along... which was particularly annoying since with mainline SMT games I feel I should be fully in control. Anyways, hope Atlus puts more attention to the freedom of decision making in the next iteration.
