Bloodborne

1. Bloodborne

If nightmare combat were a genre and souls the best simulation in class then bloodborne would be the arcade sideline - sharper, slicker and quick as pissflaps. This world is brilliant and breathless and bloody as anything.

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt

2. The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt

Carry weight > 9000 mod. Normal difficulty. Pragmatic ability point distribution. I bounced off this game a few times before adhering to the above, but once I found a rhythm and the claws were in they went 90hrs+ deep. A fantastic game.

Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

3. Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain
