2013's Top Games of the Year

This is the list of games I think are the best of the best. I think its dumb to rank 1 out of 10 so I will just list my 10 games. I'm not even going to discuss why. All ten of these were my favorite games of the year. A couple of these I will end up buying again in the case of Rogue Legacy, Outlast, and Tomb Raider.

The Last of Us

The Last of Us

The combat could be subpar many times but the story, characters, and the world came together in a way that has made a lasting impression on me. The ending was so powerful I was literally left speechless.

BioShock Infinite

BioShock Infinite

Almost the same thing can be said about Infinite as the game above. The combat could, at times, be a little much but I loved the game and every second of its story.

Rogue Legacy

Rogue Legacy

Mixing classic game play with elements of a rogue like made this one of the most games of the year for me. The talent tree, superb platforming and combat, and more make this one amazing game.

Battlefield 4

Battlefield 4

Yes, there are some issues with the multiplayer but not many. I've found the people who complain the most have only read a story about the online. I am almost 60 hours into the MP and I love it. I can't wait for the expansions and to get into it a little more.

Papers, Please

Papers, Please

OK, so I am a good employee of the state and I follow policies and laws. Oh shoot, my kids sick...I guess I could let this not at all creepy looking resistance guy in right?

The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds

The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds

A psuedo-sequel to my favorite game of all time? The expectations are too high, right? NOPE!

LEGO Marvel Super Heroes

LEGO Marvel Super Heroes

If I religiously played Lego games then I am sure this game wouldn't be on this list. However, I am both a hardcore Marvel comics fan AND a casual Lego fan so this game was right up my alley. I loved every minute of getting on the way to my platinum trophy. I do wish that they would do meaningful story DLC for the game though that won't happen.

Outlast

Outlast

The ONLY "Scary" game worth talking about this year. While the ending was lame I loved 99.9% of this game and will be purchasing it again on the PS4 when its released sometime in the next few months. Jump scares normally piss me off but this game not only kept me up way past my bed time but it made me dare ask the question...did I just shitted myself?

Super Mario 3D World

Super Mario 3D World

Holy shit cat mario! Wait, should I be excited that Nintendo is mining internet memes for costumes now? This could be a dangerous trend. Next year better not have Doge Mario...

Tomb Raider

Tomb Raider

This game outshines Uncharted 3 in a way that's both exciting and depressing all at the same time. While I have problems with the way Lara is portrayed at times and the ending could have been stronger this is still a fantastic game.
