Got way deeper into gaming with the PS2. Got it when I was just about finishing up elementary school and then enjoyed the next almost 10 years with it. Such a great console, even though I missed out on a ton of beloved classics. Still was kept to mostly just renting games at this point.

unbelievable game. blew my mind. it was just so massive and so perfectly crafted and just... damn i loved it so much. absolute masterpiece.
it was my first PS2 game and i was so excited to play it because the screens i had seen of it looked so amazing for the time and i just thought it was so cool that a ff game was going to have voice acting. still one of my favorites of the series. what an interesting world and engrossing story.
this game is just so... i don't know, original to me? it's an open world rockstar game but it's so dense with little details and little moments of pure joy and fun and it has such character to it. i really loved it and still do.
so cool. what a vibe this game is. so fun. gta was just so cool around this time. everyone played the hell out of this. i still know the cheat codes for health, armor, lower wanted stars, and weapons.
i was at the exact right age for this. i was an angsty 14 year old who loved final fantasy. and just going to all those worlds and exploring and using that combat and uncovering more of the story, it was all just so awesome.
ditto
i got psx late and ps2 even later, so by the time i got this ths3 and thps4 were kind of old hat. so i went from thps2 to this and my mind was blown. it was so smooth to play. so many creative combos would be found in those great levels. going off your board, reverts, spine transfers, wall plants. such a memorable game. spent so much time with it.
this is one that took time to grow on me. no turn based combat? plays like an offline mmo? i had never even played an mmo before. and some of its systems sort of befuddled me at first. but at some point i began loving this game a lot. the world is so rich to me. the combat became addictive. it has flaws for sure and i much prefer the newer version on ps4 today, but i put a ton of hours into the original.
this is when i fell in love with rockstar. blew my mind.
built upon what i loved about the psx spidey game. this was such a thrill ride and such a great attempt at capturing a super hero power fantasy. it was so fun being spidey and doing spidey things.
