MERCH!
Giant Bomb - a website about video games and the people that make them

Finished in '13

Still haven't played Jade Empire. I'm starting to think I never will.

I decided to go ahead and make a list for my best played games of 2013:

1) Tomb Raider

2) The Last of Us

3) Sleeping Dogs

4) The Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker HD

5) Super Mario 3D Land

6) Gone Home*

7) GTA V

8) DMC

9) The Walking Dead

10) Dishonored

11) Alan Wake

12) Guacamelee!

*Gone Home is probably the most important game of last year.

Sleeping Dogs

1. Sleeping Dogs

[01/13] 360 - A mixture of GTA III, Batman Arkham Asylum and Stranglehold that succeeds for being uniquely executed and well aged. A game that's not afraid to let you choose to have a mature game with in-maturities (see serious dialogue while wearing just underwear). It's a rare game that I want to download every worthwile DLC and try to 100% all that I can. Still working on stealing all the cars for Tran, but everything else has been done, and I still want to go back into that world. [5/5]

Dead Rising 2: Case Zero

2. Dead Rising 2: Case Zero

[01/13] 360 - A game that requires you to play it twice in a row to succeed should be an utter failure, but... it's not. I just don't know if I can achievement whore for the last four ones I'm missing, though I wouldn't mind a third playthrough. [3+/5]

DLC Quest

3. DLC Quest

[02/13] 360 - Funny for five minutes, pretty horrible after that.

Dear Esther

4. Dear Esther

[02/13] PC - I wish there were more paths, more trails, that lead you exploring the whole island, discovering more about the situation, rather than have tunnel-vision. A jaw-dropping ending that could have been interactive. [3/5]

DLC Quest

5. DLC Quest

[03/13] 360 - GOTY Edition. Better. But still simple when it could have been so complex. Imagine if it was more like Metroid... Jokes are great, and the server joke was one of the best. [3/5]

A World of Keflings

6. A World of Keflings

[03/13] 360 - I 'played' this? And wanted more? What? [3/5]

Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell: Conviction

7. Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell: Conviction

[04/13] 360 - Old man voice in a younger looking body. [2/5]

Dishonored

8. Dishonored

[04/13] 360 - I love chaos. I'm not a good person. Dishonored knows me. [5/5]

The Room

9. The Room

[04/13] Android - I cussed. I took breathers. I walked around. And then I solved each roadblock. Phenomenal. [5/5]

The Lord of the Rings: War in the North

10. The Lord of the Rings: War in the North

[05/13] 360 - What a mix of terribleness and ... well... decent gameplay. Decent may be too kind, but it was addictively playable. I think I love these types of games. Flawed, really flawed, but charming nevertheless. [3/5]
