Not many great games this year. Mostly riding out on hype for next gen I guess. As of writing this I feel like maybe I should start digging into some old favorites but what I know I really want is just some meaty ass classic style RPGs but with all the modern polygonal and voice-acted trimmings; the old stuff is old and the new stuff is shit! What do I do!?

Just super fun.
A ton of polish on this game but a bit short. Had hoped for another Dragon Quest VIII from Level 5, it just didn't do it for me.
Only good if you like modern JRPGs, which I don't; I just tolerate them, barely. As for so many other JRPG franchises, I hope Tales can return to its former glory; Vesperia was one of the best JRPGs this generation.
Got this free on Plus. Seems pretty darn cool actually. I guess its similar to Monster Hunter, but the combat seems faster and more responsive (having not actually played MH).
I thought this game was actually alright for what it was. The voice acting was ok, and the writing was pretty humorous.
See next.
Actually still waiting for this to go on sale or get included in a Humble Bundle, but it looks brilliant.
A lot more fun to play than to watch, not a huge shooter fan, but I think it's alright.
Without getting into MMO talk.. FFXIV has mostly a lot of good design, but: World is too small. Public quest grinding is practically unavoidable and boring. Job system and limit breaks are disappointing compared to equivalents in FFXI.
Could have used some voice acting. Disappointingly linear. Save system is bad. Some design/systems quirks but pretty alright overall.
