Best of 2010

xatmos: Best of 2010

I haven't played a ton of NEW games this year.  I did play Fable3, but it was a major disappointment to me, so it doesn't make my list of 2010's BEST.

Showing 1-10 of 10 items

Mass Effect 2

1. Mass Effect 2

Duh? I loved every minute of it (ok, besides the scanning :p). Finished it like 4 times, S ranked it as many others did; even replayed ME1 like 10 times to make perfect saves, and enjoyed that too. The DLC was great overall, Overlord and Shadowbroker especially.

Alpha Protocol

2. Alpha Protocol

Fuck everybody, I love this game. Best branching plot in a modern game, period. And, I even like the stealth and combat. In my mind its neck and neck with ME2.

Fallout: New Vegas

3. Fallout: New Vegas

Bugs don't bother me when the game is amazing in so many other ways.

Deadly Premonition

4. Deadly Premonition

Best Endurance Run of 2010, but Game Room is a close second.

Sam & Max: The Devil's Playhouse

5. Sam & Max: The Devil's Playhouse

Played on PS3, I think its great that Telltale has brought back the "point-and-click" adventure genre in such a wonderful way.

Recettear: An Item Shop's Tale

6. Recettear: An Item Shop's Tale

Almost forgot about this game, a cute addictive little sim/rpg.

Heavy Rain

7. Heavy Rain

Neat game, I actually watched my friend play the whole thing start to finish in one sitting. Thought it was super great till the twist, but so did everyone.

StarCraft II: Wings of Liberty

8. StarCraft II: Wings of Liberty

I enjoyed the campaign even though I haven't really played an RTS since the first StarCraft. I also enjoyed watching quite a few pro-matches.

Resonance of Fate

9. Resonance of Fate

I finished it, it was ok.. Very strange game in practically every sense.

Nier

10. Nier

Well, I haven't got around to finishing it yet. It seems like a partially nostalgic, partially modern action RPG. The side-quests seem a little bland.. but overall I think it's alright.
