A masterclass is atmosphere and body horror. Nothing comes close to me for an isolated horror experience.
Admitedly more action oriented than its previous incarnations, Resi 4 allowed the series to evolve beyond what came before and still has plenty of scares along the way.
One of two games on this list I haven't completed. Just a few hours with the game was enough to make me feel anxious and sick. The atmosphere to this game is intense and I feel it deserves a spot here for that very reason.
The other horror game I havent completed. Suffice to say, once the titular Alien is introduced here the entire game shifts into a constant game of cat and mouse. It's exhausting and will induce panic regularly but it's brilliant because of that very reason.
