My 10 favorite games I played in 2020

Man that was an awful year but I've been very fortunate in the absolutely stellar list of games I've had to play in the meantime.

Honorable mention: Rainbow 6 Siege, Astroneer

Outer Wilds

1. Outer Wilds

Absolutely incredible experiencing this game for the first time. Cannot understate how much I enjoyed exploring this finely crafted solar system and unraveling its many threads.

Hollow Knight

2. Hollow Knight

My first metroid-vania and my god an absolutely phenomenal one. The world design and atmosphere just dripped with personality and makes me excited to see what Team Cherry can do with silk song.

Yakuza 0

3. Yakuza 0

A tight open world with incredible mini games and a great story. Going back and forth between karaoke and disco and intense mafia drama shouldn't work as well as it does.

Doom

4. Doom

An ever building power fantasy of ripping and tearing through a martian demonic invasion with one of the most satisfying endings to your romp through blood and guts.

Subnautica

5. Subnautica

In the same vein as outer wilds, an absolutely delightful and terrifying survival game where you go through and unravel the many mysteries of your watery world.

Monster Hunter: World

6. Monster Hunter: World

With the last of the content finished, I finally took some time this year to get into MH:W and I'm glad I did.

Dead Cells

7. Dead Cells

With tight controls, combat, and amazing music and environments dead cells is a treat to make any sort of progression. With the support its getting I'm excited to see where the developers take it.

Persona 4 Golden

8. Persona 4 Golden

With the 24 hour heads up I had that this game was dropping to steam I was ready to shell out 60 dollars and it'd have been worth that easily. Disappointed I'm still missing Rises voiceline achievement but maybe I'll come back to it.

Sea of Thieves

9. Sea of Thieves

What an absolutely amazing game to pick up with your friends. Between this and subnautica absolutely stunned by these ocean games that look so good. My friends locked me in the brig my first time playing 10/10

Ori and the Blind Forest

10. Ori and the Blind Forest

A beautiful game throughout, it was a lovely platforming experience that was sculpted to perfection.
