Giant robots... are cool.
Mechs are more than that, too: they are mechanical masterpieces; they are monsters; they are metaphors. But when I was a child, watching Mobile Suit Gundam Wing for the first time, my reaction was definitely 'Wow!! Cool Robot!!!' and that feeling hasn't faded with age.
This may be the reason I have played, demoed, or at least watched a Let's Play of just about every mecha game to cross my path. I have sat with a kanji dictionary to navigate Japanese menus; I have wrestled with janky emulators; I have watched some utterly insufferable streamers who happened to be the only people online to play a game I simply couldn't afford or find; I have played four Pacific Rim browser games.
And I've decided to make a list of the Best(?) 66 Mecha Games of the Decade, to save you all the trouble.
