My personal choice in fighting games, no real order.

Street Fighter Alpha 3

1. Street Fighter Alpha 3

As far as I'm concerned the best fighting game ever. I spent around 3 years playing this off and on. Probably spent more time on this than any other game. Apart from..well obviously Ken, I spent a lot of time playing Guy and Sakura.

Guilty Gear XX #Reload

2. Guilty Gear XX #Reload

If i hadn't spent so much time on SFa3, this would be my favourite fighter of all time. The speed, crazy cancels, characters and overall presentation blew me away. It's a very niche title, and not to everyone's tastes...but I loved it.

Marvel vs. Capcom 2: New Age of Heroes

3. Marvel vs. Capcom 2: New Age of Heroes

Cable. Cable, Cable, Cable. What a cheap bastard he is. Well..you all know this game, and the majority love it. So what can i say?

Tatsunoko vs. Capcom: Ultimate All Stars

4. Tatsunoko vs. Capcom: Ultimate All Stars

One of the two fighting game of this generation that I have played and enjoyed so far. I think that has a lot to do with the fact that I've got a classic controller plus. Smooth to play and gorgeous to look at, Tats vs Capcom is definitely worth buying if you have a wii...just get a decent pad for it

Street Fighter III: 3rd Strike

5. Street Fighter III: 3rd Strike

I have the anniversary edition on my original xbox. Am I the only one who actually likes Shane? Basketball to the head! Good solid SF, though lacking compared to SFA3 IMO.

Capcom vs. SNK 2: Mark of the Millennium

6. Capcom vs. SNK 2: Mark of the Millennium

ITS ANOTHER VS GAME i hear you cry. Yep thats how i roll. I'm sure most of you 'purists' are rolling your collective eyes. This game introduced me to two of my favourite fighters. Terry 'ARE YOU OKAY???' Bogard and Rock 'meh' Howard/Hudson...i forget which. Terry is just...soo damn cool. Which leads me to the next game

Garou: Mark of the Wolves

7. Garou: Mark of the Wolves

Damn this is a nice fighter. Smooth, responsive and completely vicious. I believe this game introduced Geese's erstwhile son Rock.

Dead or Alive 4

8. Dead or Alive 4

The only over fighting game of this generation that sparked with me on the main consoles. Its odd, because I loathe 3d fighting games. LOATHE them. In fact part of my dislike of SFIV is that it looks 2.5d. I don't like the way the characters look. Pathetic I know, but I don't seem to be able to look past it. Any who, DOA4 was one of the first games I had on my now defunct 360. Spent some good times handing a friend his face on a platter...or just seeing how far each of us could get on the fights. That last boss was cheap as hell though.

Mobile Suit Gundam: Gundam vs. Gundam Next Plus

9. Mobile Suit Gundam: Gundam vs. Gundam Next Plus

THE best fighter on the psp. By far. The control and combo system are sublime for a game that transitioned from the Arcades. I'm totally biased towards gundam games, but this one is certainly worth the time if you can happen to get hold of it.

Dissidia: Final Fantasy

10. Dissidia: Final Fantasy

Meh. Its okay, there are some nice ideas in here...and the RPG elements they added give it more depth, but its still very meh.
