Wii games to get & thoughts on Wii games played

Looking into getting a Nintendo Wii & putting this list together as an easy way to list the games for me to go after first through gamefly or adding to the collection.

Update: now that I have the Nintendo Wii in Feb. of 2011, I'll update these with thoughts once I play them as well, if no thoughts listed then they are on gamefly to arrive sooner or later.

de Blob

1. de Blob

*Now that I have the wii, I did get this as one of the first pairs of games. Definitely looking forward to the sequel as I like some bits of this game but I found myself struggling with the awkward control setup where the blob wouldn't jump due to getting stuck on something nearby or because of some slow sliding animation I'd find myself having to redo alot of challenges due to this. Should be better for the sequel on the 360 with a better control setup for jumping as pressing a button & flipping the wimote down is quite awkward to do constantly for that one game mechanic.

Rabbids Go Home: A Comedy Adventure

2. Rabbids Go Home: A Comedy Adventure

*Now that I have the wii, I did get this as one of the first pairs of games. Very fun in all the lunacy, hoping that there's a sequel where some aliens pick up the rabbids & take them to some other planet for them to cause all kinds of chaos. Wish all the rabbid games let me put noses on them like I can here, for some reason without the nose the rabbid just looks incomplete for a character.

Wii Sports Resort

3. Wii Sports Resort

*As my Wii came with Sports & Sports Resort, I'll put thoughts on both here. Definitely liked resort better as it has a bit better polish to it though I can see a wide range of control functionality from both. True there are some of the resort sports that aren't all that fun but there are some good ones that I enjoy playing. Granted I'll probably only play this over time to amount to a few days, it's a fun one to stop back in on every now & then when just wanting a break from fps/driving/rpg games.

Silent Hill: Shattered Memories

4. Silent Hill: Shattered Memories

*Just love this game on the innovation of it all. Putting the phone controls in the Wiimote did a great job at making it quite immersive, only drawback I've found so far is on the monster moments still having issues with getting away from the creatures or throwing them off. Clearly a gem & highly recommended.

Super Mario Galaxy

5. Super Mario Galaxy

Well somehow this shows off some innovative design in the worlds though some of the worlds I saw were rather meanspirited in design. Still amazed just how dense the people are of the Mario universe is when they get attacked by Bowser in this, it's like living next to Nazi Germany where you mine gold all day long & have a rather lazy basset hound as the only possible guard then surprised when they invade. Though it seems that almost everyone is a few dozen IQ points low in this universe or just choosing to not show any common sense.
