Assassin's Creed II

1. Assassin's Creed II

I've played this game to 100% completion twice already, and I still want to go back and do it again (in Italian this time). The game is that good.

Uncharted 2: Among Thieves

2. Uncharted 2: Among Thieves

This game is what Indy 4 should have been - excellent story telling, fantastic set pieces, a great sense of humor and a hell of a lot of fun.

Batman: Arkham Asylum

3. Batman: Arkham Asylum

I loved the combat, the Riddler puzzles, the audio diaries, the creepy atmosphere of Arkham island and the Metroid-esque game progression. Everything about this game is polished and well executed.

Dragon Age: Origins

4. Dragon Age: Origins

The epic swords and sorcery RPG from Bioware. The storyline was interesting, and I liked a lot of the mechanics, but it seems more suited for the PC. The graphics weren't that great either. However, the storytelling is top-notch. This has the potential to be a great series.

inFamous

5. inFamous

A dark, and somewhat metal, superhero story. Comes complete with comic book panel cut scenes and a gruff, brooding protagonist. The gameplay is very fun. I wasn't so big on the graphics at first, but you get used to them. I'm looking forward to a sequel.

Shadow Complex

6. Shadow Complex

A fun and nostalgic side scroller reminiscent of Super Metroid. If you can get past the bullshit surrounding the author of the story, its a very good game.

Trine

7. Trine

A gorgeous side scrolling fantasy adventure where you shift between three characters depending on the situation. Physics puzzles and platforming are what this game is all about. Very well done.

Ratchet & Clank Future: A Crack in Time

8. Ratchet & Clank Future: A Crack in Time

A very fun platformer that includes spaceship battles, time manipulation puzzles, collectibles and a sense of humor. ACIT is the supposed end of the future series of R&C games, and I'm excited to see where Insomniac takes these characters next.

Resident Evil 5

9. Resident Evil 5

Not as good as RE4, with a schizophrenic AI partner and a ridiculous story, it still manages to be a lot of fun. A guilty pleasure of some sorts.

Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars

10. Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars

A top-down portable version of GTAIV following a Chinese Triad gangster in Liberty City. The drug dealing mini-game is the most addictive thing I've played on the DS this year. Its a lot of fun.
