I had a good time with "The Dig", I think the environments hold up really well 25 years later and the overall mystery of an alien world still works for me. There were a few solutions near the end of the game that got a little too obtuse for me and most of the mysteries are revealed through one large text dump. I was thinking a lot about Outer Wilds as a played The Dig, both games have you learning about an alien civilization. Outer Wilds does a great job of constructing a bread crumb trail of mysteries. The Dig mostly leaves you hanging until the end of the game. I still the love a good mystery behind a wall of puzzles. The end wraps a little too neatly and kind of leaves a lot of the heavy ideas without resolution (bringing people back from the dead, for example).
