    The Umbra sword is a unique weapon from the Elder Scrolls franchise with the ability to trap the souls of those it has killed. It has made appearances in both Morrowind and Oblivion.

    The Umbra Sword was forged for the single purpose of capturing souls. An ancient witch created it by trapping a dark being named Umbra within the sword. Taking a life of it's own, the sword refuses to be wielded by any but those it deems worthy. It is said that the blade slowly takes control of it's wielder, until it's hunger for souls consumes their own.
