    Repair and Use

    When the player first encounters the Ultron in Star Control II, it is broken. The parts needed to repair the device are the Clear Spindle, Aqua Helix, and Rosy Sphere, held respectively by the Pkunk, Thraddash, and Druuge races. Upon restoring the Ultron and returning it to the Utwig, they will ally with the player and make their powerful ships available for construction.
     

    True Nature

    The Precursor in Star Control 3 reveals that the Ultron is a "seeking artifact", a living intelligent object capable of detecting "precursor potential" in other evolved species. It is designed to fit inside the Red Spiral Rail housing.
