Yes, that's right, following in the tradition of absolutely ridiculous collectors / special editions of Call of Duty titles (Night vision goggles? R/C car with built in camera?) is the Splinter Cell Blacklist Paladin Multi-Mission Aircraft Edition, which comes with:

"Custom 3-channel, ready to fly dual-engine remote-controlled airplane with a retail value of $150"

These special editions are getting out of hand, and I COMPLETELY LOVE IT.

    • 6 month limited manufacturer pre-flight warranty

Reading the thread's title it was obviously not going to be an actual plane but in the back of my head I was hoping that it would be. Shows that these special editions still have ways to go

I never heard about the quality of the Night Vision Goggles, did they work?

And I take it the remote-controlled car was a pretty cheap, sub-Radio-Shack quality product.

I don't have confidence considering Conviction's CE USB was borked.

Everything they've shown so far makes it look like they are going back to the Chaos Theory era of Splinter Cell while mixing in the great stuff from Conviction. As a huge fan of SC 1-3, I'm super excited to play it.

That plane looks like overkill though, and after seeing my friend buy the RC car with Black Ops I have to believe that plane will be just as shitty in terms of quality.

@vinny_says: Don't get me wrong I was a die hard splinter cell fan. I've played every game thus far and played the mercs and spys religiously on chaos theory and pandora tomorrow. I'm just utterly burned out after the last game though. Two mediocre games in a row plus the lack of Ironside make me not care anymore. Not that I hope it turns out bad or anything and if you enjoy it then I'm glad. I hope someone enjoys it but they just lost me after the last one personally.

Regarding the N.V. goggles, my friend has it and said they work. So yeah.

the night vision goggles these guys run it down perfectly

and yep that remote control car was pretty cheap and pretty ridiculous in how it used 12 AA batteries,

Game looks atrocious, but that's a kick ass pack in.

It actually looks pretty good - looks like they are going back to some of the roots while maintaining some of the fast paced gameplay from Conviction. Not saying Conviction was an amazing game, it was good in it's own way, but it did break Splinter Cell out of that super rigid animation priority state that wasn't doing it any favors.

I was a fan of 1-3, but everything they've shown about it makes me not care a single bit about it. Add to the fact that the last couple have been mediocre and the lack of Michael Ironside means I just don't really care too much about it.

Each their own. I liked it when splinter cell was a stealth game and not just another third person shooter. Nothing I have seen of it looks interesting in the least bit. I haven't cared for the series in a few games so I couldn't care less what they do with the series at this point.

I was afraid of this, those goggles are basically the quality you get in those kid's spy goggles that you can get. I got a pair at a thrift store for $4, they had the single vision and even had a video record function and a damn USB slot for extra storage. Beat the hell out of those things.

A month before the ship date they will silently issue a press release saying they ran out of dragons and are substituting it with one of those dragon dildos.

    Enjoy.
