Looks like we finally getting some JRPG love. Since the first one will be released shortly in the West (August) now they announced Tales of Xillia 2 for the west in 2014. Tales of Xillia is a great addition to the Tales of Series so if you like Tales of or JRPG in general go and buy both games^^

    No Caption Provided

The only bad thing about Xillia 2 is the silent Protagonist which is kind of wired but they sacrificed it for dialogue choices. Here is the Japanese Trailer as long they have not released the english one which was shown today.

    Great news!

Now if only Namco Bandai remembered that there is another platform out there with gamers who like Japanese-made games who'd love to back on the Tales-train ... *cough*

With this coming out after the new consoles and Namdai's kind of spotty record of localizing Tales games, I was a little worried about never getting to play this one. This is good news.

If you want to play tales of game or rather JRPGs you better buy a Playstation. There is no other way around this not now and not in the future. They tried it with Vesperia but it went rather poorly. They tried it with Graces and again it failed.

Cool. I'm surprised that this localization is being announced before the first game is even out.

Ive given up on the Tales games. The combat systems just feels so simple and dull. Cool for those that like these games though, wish I did too :(

It makes sense since this is continuing the story. So people can be assured to get the whole picture and not like with Trails in the sky only a part of the whole story.

And they tried it with Abyss and it succeeded but they didn't care ;)

(Also, why do I need to buy another PlayStation^^)

I definitely didn't expect any Tales of news for a while. Especially not Tales of Xilla 2 or a Dual Audio for ToS.

Looks like I'm not putting my PS3 away anytime soon.

I'm pretty excited for the first one in August. I wonder if they'll released an enhanced version of the sequel on the new consoles.

Like I said in my previous comment, why do I need yet another PS3? :D (To be extra clear: I have one!)

I just don't want to play new games on it anymore (aside from backlog stuff)^^

I think Baba (Tales director) said in an interview (in either famitsu or siliconera?) that they realize Tales fans are on the PS3 so they are going to continue support on that system going forward, until they move to Ps4.

I know he said that. Doesn't mean his logic makes a lot of sense.

I guess I'll have to get the first one as well then. This looks kinda cool.

And I do like me some dialogue choices.

It makes financial sense and that is more than enough for Namco and Baba. AS I said on the other two consoles did it not sell at all.

    @theht

Tales of Xillia is great as well. It is way more story and character focused than Graces was and also you can chose between two characters which will have some different events and fights^^

The japanese dub have some expensive voices, so that might be a problem but the English one seems ok.

My biggest problem will be Alvin's voice. I want the voice of Gintoki^^

Again, Abyss 3DS outsold the two Vita ports so that "financial sense" doesn't really make sense unless you're playing it super-extra safe.

@def: I am talking about consoles not handhelds. I really don't want to ruin new main tales of games. They do not deserve being first released on a handheld. Also Abyss was a main part while the Vita ports just were spin offs.
