    Overview

Taisen Idol Mahjong: Final Romance 2 is a riichi mahjong (two-player variant) eroge developed and released by Video System for arcades exclusively in Japan in 1995.

The second in the Idol Mahjong: Final Romance series of strip mahjong games, Final Romance 2 switches the original game's digitized photos of real people with hand-drawn anime-style character designs. This change persisted throughout the rest of the series (Final Romance R and Final Romance 4).

The game was unique for its time for allowing dual-linked arcade cabinets with the same hardware. Along with dual single-player games, this feature allows players to challenge each-other to one-on-one three-game matches (where players can be given power-ups on a loss).

The game received multiple ports at the time with the title Idol Mahjong: Final Romance 2, removing the Taisen name due to the lack of multiplayer. It was first ported to both the Sega Saturn (published by ASK on August 11, 1995) and Neo Geo CD (published by SNK on August 25, 1995), followed by an enhanced port (under the title Idol Mahjong: Final Romance 2 - HYPER EDITION) for the 3DO (developed and published by Infini) on January 19, 1996. The NGCD version is notable for being one of the few games for that system that was not previously on other Neo Geo platforms (as well as the only traditional "strip mahjong" released for that system).

The game was later ported to the Nintendo Switch in Japan under the Idol Mahjong: Final Romance 2 name, released by City Connection on April 28, 2021. Similar to other Switch ports of strip mahjong games, this version censors all nudity.
