This Thursday will mark the pilot episode of THURSDAY NIGHT THROWDOWN, Giant Bomb's new live, weekly community feature. The basic idea here is to give you, the Giant Bomb community, a regular opportunity to interact with the Giant Bomb staff, with the hottest new online multiplayer games serving as the conduit. But you don't have to play to be a part of the Thursday Night Throwdown, as we'll also be offering a live video stream of the event and a chat room where we'll be taking questions from the folks at home.
For our inaugural episode, the game of choice will be SUPER STREET FIGHTER IV, which just hit the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 earlier this week. For the sake of system equality, we'll be switching between the two versions. If you already know you want a shot at the title, Jack, here are the gamertags to look out for:
Xbox 360: GBTNT
PlayStation 3: GBTNT
Please note that you shouldn't send a friend request if you don't want to play Super Street Fighter IV specifically. We'll be clearing out the friends lists on these accounts on the regular. So be here at 4PM PACIFIC DAYLIGHT TIME (GMT -07:00) this THURSDAY, APRIL 29TH, 2010 for our first... THURSDAY NIGHT THROWDOWN!
UPDATE: This week's live stream has ended! Thanks to everyone who showed up, and if you missed it, you can watch an archived version of today's fights in the window below.

OK, yeah, that's a WAY better name than Bombing Run. I'm not a fighting game player, but I love watching fights, so I'll tune in for sure.
For the record, your gamertags. Should people who want to fight you send invites their way, and more importantly, when you switch to other games, are you going to clear off the friends list beforehand to accept new friends/invites for the Throwdown? Just trying to determine what the best method of getting into a future Throwdown event with you will be, and if I should have sent a friend request already in anticipation of the weeks to come.
I sent a friend request to GBTNT on Xbox Live. My gamertag is ForeverFlash.
I dunno if I'm in for more Super Street Fighter 4. I've already seen a lot of it having watched the first livestream for it. Still though, look forward to future Throwdowns. Will these be uploaded to the site in high quality? Will you be talking to the community and getting their chat in the stream?

"Great question. We'll be using the GBTNT gamertags for Thursday Night Throwdown, so that's where you should be directing your friend requests. Both are currently empty, though we'll be clearing them out on the regular to make sure the most people get a chance to play.
I really wanna play SSFIV but I don't want to try playing it agin with my normal 360 controller. I cannot afford a fight stick though.
