A variation of the Piranha Plant. They're almost indestructible - very few things can defeat them.
Ninji are ninja enemies seen infrequently in the Mario series.

Porcupo are purple porcupine-like enemies that vex Mario and his friends.
A power-down is an item or effect that has some negative impact on the player character's attributes or abilities, often inverting the effects of a power-up. In certain situations, this can be to the player's advantage.
A walking Piranha Plant that can breathe/spit a spiked ball.

Reznors are a quartet of fire-spitting dinosaurs standing on ferris wheel-like platforms. They act as mini-bosses throughout the game.
Shy Guys are masked hoodlums of the Mushroom Universe.
Massive Hammer Bros. who can shake the screen by hopping.
A segmented platform that, when stepped on, will move erratically in a set pattern. The clue is to not fall off until the destination is reached.
A Snifit is a Shy Guy who spits bullets from behind the mask on their face.
Sparks, also known as L'il Sparkies, are a recurring enemy in the Mario universe. They are an electricity-emitting orb that normally follow a specific path.
A gameplay mechanic which allows the player to move faster than the normal speed. Usually for a set amount of time.
A two-dimensional image or animation overlaid into a scene. The foundation of early 2D games, making up everything from props to the player-controlled character.
Tanuki are a type of raccoon dog native to Japan. In folklore, they are capable of shape-shifting.
Toads are a species of intelligent mushrooms and the dominant species of the Mushroom Kingdom.
