Starcraft 2 = play it, beat it, and forget it.

Without the name Starcraft 2 or Blizzard attach to this game, it would be a decent RTS but nothing more.  Factor in only one race story and people would hate on any other RTS.  You can't compare this with the first game as that was a COMPLETE game while this one is a third.  At $60, I find it very hard to recommend this unless you simply live for MP RTS.  I simply can not understand how it took over a decade for this game.  When we get it, its incomplete and not very different from the first game.  The story is predictable and downright boring.  The cutscenes are visually awesome as you expect from a Blizzard game.  The few new units are a snore.  I'd sure like some super end game units that make you go 'hot damn' when you get them made.

I very much enjoy upgrading units in games but its sooooo stretched out here that it gets boring.  The Protoss/Zerg research thing is a nice touch and clearly aim at much replay but when the game isn't that fun the first time, it's limited in its effect.  I don't know how people can brag that the game has so many different types of missions.  The objective might be different but the actual gameplay is the same.  Since its an RTS, you expect such but when others try to act like its totally awesome and so different then I must question how much RTS they've played.  Take the train one for example.  You still build a base but instead of attacking bases, you get to sit and wait for a train to come by.  I don't see how that is so awesome and different.

Lets face it, the last mission was boring.  Waited 12 years so I could play defense tower at a time when I should be attacking the biggest hive possible?  Then the final cutscene is a huge let down also.  To me, the game ends on such a boring worthless note that I can barely give a rats ass about any other races story.

Honestly, I'm sad.  I'm sad because I'm having to wait for Diablo 3 while crap like this comes out.  Starcraft 2 = play it, beat it, and forget it.

Not Just a Fresh Coat of Paint 0

Starcraft 2 is a game that’s been a long time coming.   It’s also a game that’s gotten a whole mess of negative sentiment from what I can only hope is the usual vocal minority on the internet who condemn games like this based on some weird bizzaro-world metric for what makes games fun.   That said, let’s go ahead and get those concerns out of the way.   Starcraft 2 is not Starcraft 1 with a shiny new coat of paint.   When you buy Starcraft 2, you are not paying $60 for 1/3 of a game.   If thos...

StarCraft II was worth the wait. 0

It’s here. After twelve long years, StarCraft II is finally here! And I’m here to give you the run-down of how things are in the world of StarCraft. Enjoy your stay!   I bought the collector’s edition. I normally don’t buy collector’s editions, but I actually really respect Blizzard’s games. They’re pretty much perfect on release, and when you buy a Blizzard game, you know you’re buying quality. It’s like buying a Valve game. The packaging is pretty awesome. It’s made of cardboard, but it’s n...
