Overview
Spectral vs Generation (known in China as Shèng Mó Shìjì: Spectral vs Generation) is a 2D fantasy fighting game developed by IGS (along with Idea Factory) and released by IGS for arcades (using their PolyGame Master hardware) in Asian regions in 2005.
It is a crossover fighting game spin-off of two tactical-RPG series set in Idea Factory's "Neverland" universe: Spectral Force and Generation of Chaos.
It is the last game released on PGM hardware (both as a cartridge and as a combined PCB) and is known for its arcade Training Mode, which allows players to practice against a stationary opponent for 100 seconds.
The game was later ported by Idea Factory (in conjunction with Conspiracy for the European version) to the PlayStation 2 in both Japan (on April 20, 2006) and Europe (on July 25, 2007) and to the PlayStation Portable in both Japan (on October 26, 2006) and Europe (on March 30, 2007). The Japanese version was published by Idea Factory while the European version was released by Midas.
