Space Siege Review
Space Siege is the Spiritual successor to the Dungeon Siege games both developed by Gas Powered Games, now i didnt play the original Dungeon Siege games but heard nothing but praise about so curious about the developer i picked up Space Siege.
Space Siege is a Sci-Fi action RPG set in a future where mankind is in a war against the Kerak an insectoid alien race, you play as Seth Walker, a soldier and engineer on board the ISCS Armstrong, which is under attack by the Kerak as well as some crazed cyborgs.
The game plays like a standard dungeon crawler with left click to move and right click to attack controls, the game also utilizes a unique physics system that is put into play with the thousands of explosive barrels that litter the ship, you can shoot a barrel with may explode sending several other barrels flying into the enemy who will then be blown to Bits. Parts like this in the game are extremely satisfying.
The plot of the game is suprisingly good considering its a dungeon crawler and lasts about 15 or so hours without getting stale.
One thing that Space Siege does different from most RPG's is its unique combat system, players pick up new weapons as they go through the game, these weapons do not require ammo to use and can be upgraded at the upgrade stations littered throughout each zone.
You customize you character in three ways, the first is a talent tree that you gain points for by doing quests, the second is customizing your character at upgrade stations using upgrade materials which are gained by killing enemies and the third way to customize your character is by cybernetic implants.
Throughout the game you will find cybernetic implants that can give your character substantial bonuses at the cost of your humanity level.
So in conclusion i found Space Siege to be an excellent RPG and highly recommend it to any fan of RPG's and to people who havn't played an RPG before as Space Siege is a good and accesible starting point.
