Sotenbori is a fictional metropolitan district of Osaka, Japan that serves as a major setting in the Yakuza series. It is based on the real-world Dōtonbori, a prominent tourist destination in Osaka. As with its inspiration, Sotenbori is famous for its large illuminated signboards, as well as several well-known restaurants offering a wide range of both traditional and modern Japanese cuisine.
Similar to the Tojo Clan's heavy presence in Kamurocho, The Omi Alliance yakuza clan exercises considerable influence in Sotenbori, as their organization is headquartered in Osaka.
