The video quality's crap tonight. Not sure what causes this. Everything else is streaming in sweet, so I doubt it's my internet. Not sure why Giant Bomb's dips from time to time. Must be that damn Net Neutrality loss!!

You guys could try Pocket Tanks Deluxe (2001) if you liked Scorched Earth. It's not as new looking as Shellshock Live, but allows local multiplayer and has all the fun guns without having to level them up. I used to play it a lot with friends at lunch when it was ported to mobile.

That microwave is literally out for MURDER. Kill it first.

Yay for Friday! Time to chug Coors Light, blow part of my tax return on a $200 hockey jersey though I couldn't give less of a shit about sportz, and stress out entirely about my moving situation!

Shellshock looks pretty rad (had it on my wishlist for a bit), but I'd love an HD-ified Scorched Earth, maybe something with similar style just higher resolution. Or I'll just play fucking Scorched Earth. Or some variant of Worms.

I really miss gunbound, I know it's still around in some form but ever since they went pay to win, changed that your hard earned gear was only yours for a limited time and it got littered with hackers, it went downhill fast.

Jeff shouldn't go for a more powerful microwave. Really you should turn your microwave down. Everyone having theirs on high is what causes molten outside frozen inside. It's like trying to cook something on a frying pan that is set to maximum heat.

Also, don't put the food in the center of the plate, put it on the outside edge so it rotates around all zones of the microwave.

This might be a weird question, but why do none of the GB folks go to the bathroom before they start recording or start a stream? Lately it seems like every video or live stream at least two people are getting up to go to the bathroom. It disrupts the flow of the conversations and the video. I guess with UPF it's fine because it is "Unprofessional."

Gunbound was really fun when it first started making the rounds on the US side as this weird Korean oddity a handful of years back in the day. Back when all this free to play craziness hadn't been as honed in as it is now, it was a really cool alternate take on that weird Worms-esque genre and all the different tanks or whatever they were called (mobos? something like that) were really cool to master. Eventually when you got decent enough at all of them where everyone just chose random, that was the best. Boomerang shots hooking back in the wind, getting that perfect scoop shot with the spider bot, that pin perfect hit with the satellite super. Man Gunbound was awesome.

I'm really thinking about the NT Mini, but I also want to import a Japanese Super Famicom Mini. NT Mini I would like because i can get all of the SNES Library from PAL/NTSC/NTSC-J with wireless controllers, and i could buy a couple of proper SNES controllers costing over 200$, or go for about 25 SNES games all in NTSC-J for 84$ shipped... anyone sway me one way or the other? would be greatly appreciated. im stuck in the middle here...

@bageldrone: Scorched Earth was one of the games we had on our first family PC in the early 90s and it was dope at the time, it predates Worms by some years iirc. 'Course by now it's kinda basic since you can't even move like in Worms.

Was there a problem with the audio or was Rorie just always talking over the other guys especially during monster hunter? Someone mentioned the audio issue and wondering if it was the mix or just bad timing when talking at the same time?

It just seems sometimes you talk way over others Rorie and people almost always mention this you say sorry youll be more mindful in comment sections ive seen and then amplify it down the road. It's just hard to hear the others is all when they're talking. Nothing wrong with talking just seemed to notice last few upfs is all.

As for the other person saying they had issues steaming this I do too its the only thing I've had issues streaming live lately has been giant bomb. I'm on spectrum which is Cox I think. I was getting fine speed test scores and always do when this happens but the video constantly is buffering unless I set it to low only when it is live though. Maybe that's net neutrality but damn I hope not.

Scorched Earth was released in 1991 for DOS. Worms was released in 1995 for the Amiga.

microwaves are non-ionizing radiation (like cell-phone radiation), so the danger from a microwave is the same heating effect (vibrating water molecules) you use to cook food in it. however, microwaving metal can burn out the magnetron

...

Inorganic materials are a different matter entirely. Non-reactive, non-metal vessels of ceramic, plastic, or glass do not absorb radio waves at that frequency and consequently, don't heat up very much in the microwave. Metal, on the other hand, actually reflects microwave energy. That's why the inside of every microwave is essentially a secure metal box—they keep microwaves from spreading out across the kitchen and cooking your insides from across the room.

Now things get a little weird. It turns out that any flat metal sheet—the thicker the better (and we'll get to why in a second)—can be used safely in the microwave because they act just like the flat metal walls: they reflect microwaves. A sheet of flat metal can actually be used to shield parts of your dinner to prevent them from overcooking since they would prevent the microwave energy from actually striking the food. And when placed under, say, a DiGiorno's frozen pizza, a flat sheet of metal can actually help brown and crisp foods by reflecting additional energy against the bottom of the food.

... prolonged microwaving of metal ... will likely cause irreparable harm to the appliance

There was an amazing Scorched Earth clone with the hook that the levels took place on a series of planetoids in a void.

Each Planet had it's own gravitational field so you could do all sorts of crazy shots using slingshot mechanics and whatnot.

I wish I knew what it was called ;_;

BTW Jeff is right about the Murder Umbrella thing. There's Yokai for everything. Kasa-obake are literally old umbrellas that have come to life to do spoooooky stuff.

Jeff's comment about how MH is something you play while you're doing something else is super true, at least for me. Most of my time with the series is playing it while also watching TV, a stream, or a GB vid. Because a lot of the stuff doesn't really require 100% focus. The small monster quests especially. But even large monster quests when you're killing a Rathian for the 15th time because you want a gem.

That's one of the main reasons MHW hasn't sunk it's claws in me as deep as the other games. I kind of hope they go back to portables.

I don't know what I was expecting from The Twisted Tale of Spike McFang, but the dialog was pretty funny and I was kinda bummed that they'd already stopped paying attention.

He refuses to help save his parents and village because he's signed up for classes and doesn't want to lose his deposit.

I've known of Spike McFang for ages, but holy shit, that is not AT ALL what I thought it was. For some reason, I always pictured it being some anthropomorphic animal western game, like Moo Mesa. Weird... where did that mental image come from for all these years?
