Now this is the best episode yet.

"This Is the Run" has officially been renamed "Is This Live?".

What are they doing with the feature? Releasing batches of episodes at once, doing a live episode of an ndent, episodic feature series, etc.

They can't all be the run!

My butt was super clenched watching this pre-taped video during the live chat. Also, fuck dan.

They just "Inceptioned" us...

So, was it all the run? Or, is it never the run.

It really was a fantastic moment when Vinny beat three of Dan's characters by just doing the same attack over and over.

I... am confused. Why would they release all parts in one go? It kinda defeats the whole purpose of this show, which is the tension of not knowing whether Vinny beats Dan. And now they have just dumped the whole thing in one go? So why would I watch any of the other episodes if I can just watch the last one and know the outcome?

I suppose today's pile of episodes loses some of it's charm if you missed the live show they did today. It was all kinds of magical.

Otherwise I can't help you, because I get my enjoyment from just watching these goofs.

I am unsure why people didn't think this was live - and runs other than 8 are not appearing on the front page.

This episode gave me the runs.

@zaldar: Cause throughout the live stream they were playing pre-recorded video and playing it off like it was the real thing until they did this one.

@kazona: To be fair, they're pretty entertaining on their own regardless of whether or not you know the outcome.

Can someone who knows more about SC then I do confirm if the jump over the attack at around 18min in is a manual input by Vinny? If so...wow

Man, gotta say I'm disappointed how these were released :/ I jumped into the latest premium content from the home page and watched this only to realise that were 4 previous eps released that aren't on the home page for some reason? I love the series so I'll definitely watch but knowing they are not 'the run' takes something out of it. :(

I wished they had realised them one a day in sequence or at least in one long video.

It's a fucking travesty that the HD version never made it to current gen/Steam.

Your fault for having a job and not being able to watch an afternoon stream like the rest of us cool dudes who live with our parents.

@linne: I saw that and was wondering the same thing.

@linne: Looks like a manual jump to me, although pretty likely still unintentional - it's not hard to jump by accident in SC, and occasionally you dodge an attack with it and feel super good about it. Mostly it just leaves you open though.

Also in case anyone was wondering about that round where Yoshimitsu seemed to just sit down and give up at the end: in SC Yoshimitsu has a quick teleport move that does a small chunk of damage to himself every time he does it. Dan mashed into it by accident when he was almost dead already, and it ended the round without Vinny touching him.

@homelessbird: Ah ok, had the thought as well that it could have been on accident. Nevertheless it was a great moment and even more so if it was on purpose.

I'm really impressed with Vinny's skill and learning capability.

All these episodes came at a great time, was bored as hell tonight so that was my entertainment sorted. Thanks.

Count me as another person fooled into thinking that the only episodes available were 1, 2, 3, and 8, given that's all that showed on the home page.

Could you guys go back to releasing episodes one at a time? Even once daily would be better than dumping five at a time. A big part of the entertainment factor of This Is the Run is seeing if a run will truly end up being The Run.

Hey I don't mind a bunch of episodes to watch at once but it did make me momentarily panic about the potential time warp I had fallen into.

Edit: Oh god, I want a gif of that move Vinny pulled off during the Lizardman versus Cervantes match about 18:00 in where he blocks the first hit of Lizardman's three-hitter, then jumps over the second and blocks the third one.

Of course Dan is the kind of Soul Calibur player that keeps hitting them after the fight.

It was really tense. This has made for a good series.

Yep. Never liked the ordering layout, like it even less today.

Also it's odd how Vinny was aware that video lengths could spoil the video but didn't think throwing out all these videos at once would do the same.

Ok, I've gone back and watched the others first. I bet chat was a pretty fun place to be for the whole stream. (Just watching the GB Unarchieved 'fakeout' video now). Very funny.

This was the most intense episode yet. That third round. Holy shit.

@zaldar: 8 being on the front page though ruined the rest of the episodes for me. I'd have much rather had a big episode that was all the live runs together, all as run 3. That way it'd be a surprise.

It made for a pretty great stream as they commented on previous attempts and then did new attempts live. The only mistake I think they made is by posting them individually. They should have just posted the archive itself so people could watch it like how we did. Of course the run time would give a bit away (with nearly 2 hours, unlikely it's one attempt) but I just watched post-stream and blocked the runtime with my hands anyway so, yeah. Anyway, they said they will be back to normal starting next week after Tuesday. They trying to make it up to series fans since they knew they'd be gone for awhile and I guess it backfired due to the way they posted the archive. Hopefully they learn from this going forward. Personally, I loved it all.

I'm glad I'm not the only one that somehow thought I fell through a time portal.
