Eh, Jeff is pretty far off on the Google vs Microsoft privacy thing. People are more forgiving to Google, because not only are they open about what data they have about you (here), but they allow you to opt-out of collection from the tracking + ad companies they own (tons) as well (here). No it doesn't tell you in fine detail what they're doing with your data, and it doesn't protect you from the numerous tracking beacons other sites are using (Ghostery will take care of that), but it's a huge difference that what Microsoft is doing.

If I could pay for Microsoft to upgrade to make use of Cortana or accurate search (Bing integration crippled it in terms of speed/accuracy from 8 to 8.1 if you opt out of sending typing data, and that's still the case here) I would, but unfortunately that's not even an option here, which is absurd (even worse considering it's default and the typical user is unaware that they're agreeing to OS-level adware).

Edit: There are still some minor bugs that should be fixed soon, don't forget to install new Nvidia and AMD Drivers.

@eggheaded: Yeah, I think you hit the nail on the head as to why people seem more forgiving to Google here.

I've personally just embraced that every company out there probably knows more about me than I do myself. I hope to at least get some deals or something out of it. It's crazy how much my Android phone knows about me, when I'm on a vacation it suggests events and stuff like that that's scarily accurate to my interests.

I agree with Alex: this should be episode X, then X-1, X-1b, X-3, 14, and finally Fifteen

@vinny in case you still don't know the history of this game (Cradle) and the context for its development this video from Polygon goes into it. It is almost as interesting as the game itself.

I owned a Windows phone for around 3 months and then I couldn't do it anymore. I hated it, so much.

I really think this Kickstarter thing is blown out of proportion. Most Kickstarters say, "hey, if you can help us raise x then we can guarantee a better game because it opens up more investing." No one's fault but the consumer if they can't read the fine print of the Kickstarter. Klepek's article on Yooka Laylee was pretty sad as it lacked anything more than outrage minus investigation. I've even seen game developer's complaining about that article and it seems we're still reporting it as gospel :|

Best way to punish quitters is to permanently match them with other quitters. Or at least put them in the quitter queue for a while.

@amyggen: Same thing for me. Pocket Casts seems to be having a problem with Giant bomb feeds lately. I just got the Alex and Austin talk about Pixels to show up yesterday in the feed. Now I'm waiting on Drew and Dan's movie podcast and this.

Still waiting on beastcast. There is a thread in the forum discussing this but the engineers dont seem to get the problem. Not sure what is wrong.

PocketCasts is having some problems with the GB RSS feeds. It doesn't seem like it's on GB's end, and it affects users differently. Try adding the premium Beastcast feed, the normal Beastcast feed doesn't work for me but all others do, including the Premium Beastcast feed. It's a weird one.

As with the premium bombcast this week, this too fails to appear in Pocket Casts. Even tried deleting the podcast and re-add, still no go.

Kinda crazy to even have to say it, but listening to entire albums isn't at all uncommon!

I like how right after talking about win 10 violating your privacy, you talk about how strange Vinny's brother is because he doesn't want change to some "free" sms alternative.

none of you even raised an eyebrow. It was just "objectively better". Maybe we are the crazy millennials selling of our privacy in the eyes of your brother.

I don't know about code in Windows, but there's a ton of bullshit third-party stuff that does a lazy check for "Windows 9" to see if it's running under Windows 95/98. Check it.
