Yeah I was also going to say, Jeff sounded surprisingly excited about everything in this game. I think it's just one of those things where everything about the Smash Bros package is a thing that Jeff would be way into, he just doesn't like playing them.

The Ken fights were all Echo fighters.

Huge package! Definitely gonna pick this up. Most likely digital because I have a boat load of eShop points to burn and using them to cut down on Smash’s price will make this a steal. Also best part of the QL is Ben playing Escape from the City and Jeff replied with:

“Oh man. This is a Hell.”

Around 9:30 Ben refers to the Pokemon "Haunter" as "HAUNT-AR" and this completely threw me off.

This is the first time I've ever been intrigued by Smash. Might have to get this.

I haven't played a Smash since the Gamecube one and I can't wait to get this, even though I'm no longer in dorms and able to play 4-player Smash whenever I want. The amount of insane Nintendo game lore packed in there combined with the single player mode is more than enough to get me in.

Music of the year! the Mappy medley and the Wii Shop Music remix are too good!

I'm a bit confused how they have everyone together which is like the dream team for live content we are starved for right now and all we get is a 28 minute smash quick look this week. Even this is short and completely unexpected was hoping to see more here.

I'm hoping the podcasts are shorter and we get far more hilarious video content this year.

Ken's Classic path seems to be versus echo fighters and other 'player 2' variants of main characters and that's pretty funny to me.

Thank goodness they got around to playing this I was real worried it wouldn’t get a chance to crack the top 3 in GOTY talks but now I can sleep easy.

@steveurkel: It's mostly because they spend around 30ish hours on just the game of the year ranking content. Then they still have their 2 main weekly podcasts. Then they need to make a week or 2 of content for over Christmas and New Years. Despite having everyone there, there's only so much studio space to get all of this done.

Does Ben not have it so the selected music for the stage plays over the character select? Because that's like the best feature for the game when I played it the other day. It happened at the end but not during the first part when they played multiplayer.

The Spirits mode seems like an alright fusion of Ultimate MvC3's Heroes & Heralds mode and DBFZ's crummy story mode.

In my experience, these games are only fun in a casual setting with friends. If you're playing with tryhards or people who are actually passionate about a character, they're the most infuriating games ever made.

So, I have a question. I have never in my life played a Smash game. When I play fighting games, its mostly for single player as have neither the patience nor the reflexes to be even marginally competent when it comes to multiplayer. Should I play this game?

From what I have read it sounds like there is plenty of single player content, but having never played these games before not sure if its any good?

It's nice that this port got over 10,000 updates.

I haven't played Smash since Melee but I am getting it tomorrow. Any newbie wanna play Online sometimes hit me up!

I always love it when fighting games make time for us single-player folk and give us something meaty and creative. This looks great.
