It's back! Audio should be fixed. That junk was WAY OFF! Sorry about that. Also, this game seems rad.

I'd be way into this if it were more about exploring the neat world instead of yay more puzzle games.

After watching this Quicklook I now have another puzzle platformer to add to my list of games to play. Thanks, Giantbomb (both sarcastically and sincerely).

I kind of wish that I didn't see Patrick discover the unique mechanic in the swapping because now I won't have that moment, but from the looks of what I have seen so far there may be other chances to have a moment like that in The Swapper.

Yeah, that definitely seems like a name that deserves a facepalm in retrospect.

I spoke to the developers at PAX East 2013 and (if memory serves me) found out that this was originally a multiplayer concept.

This game looks purty. I hope the twist to it is just that you've been killing yourself throughout the whole game, and not some pseudo-intellectual bullshit about alternate dimensions.

Took me 3 hours to complete even with me taking my time looking around and doing every puzzle, reading all the logs. It's a good game but the puzzles are straight forward, 1 tool for every puzzle quickly narrows down all the choices. Antichamber is still the king of this genre in my opinion.

This is reminding me A LOT of a Flash game people described as Braid-like where you created clones of yourself to proceed in a platformy fashion. Anybody know what I'm talking about?

@video_game_king: I definitely remember it, but not its name. It was kind of melancholy, right? I think it involved a guy in a hat. (ETA: It was "The Company of Myself" I believe).

PB Winterbottom had clones too. It's a very common concept in these puzzle-platformer Indie flash games.

Yep, Jeff went directly to the seediest connotation of 'swapper'. Perfect. :D

This looks pretty cool. The thing I'm most curious, and likely the reason I will probably pick it up, is to see how the mechanics work when pushed for speedrunning purposes. Will it break? Or will it get even more interesting? I want to see. :)

Just beat this game. It was pretty awesome. I recommend anyone to buy it who enjoys sci-fi and atmosphere. I just wish it was a little more Metroid, with a few more items or abilities to use.

Pseudo-intellectual? Not really, although it definitely plays the part at first. There's no alternate dimensions and it deals with typical sci-fi themes, albeit in a roundabout way.

One more note: If you're going to play this game then make sure to explore everywhere and complete every puzzle you see. You'll need to.

The aesthetic for this game is amazing and based off Patrick's description of how it's made, doubly so. I'm pretty excited to play it based on what I've seen. I think this game is going to scratch the puzzle platformer itch.

I actually went ahead and bought it anyway, because it looked so cool. Played 4 hours and I'm stuck at what I suspect is 3/5ths of the way through. Currently have like 33/63 orbs for my next door.

Good game so far. My biggest complaint is that the clay isn't more apparent. It just looks like a cool art style, rather than clay; which is a huge shame, considering all the work that must have gone into it.

Been playing a while beyond this quick look, not sure in the bomcast what Patrick and Vinny found to be "mindblowing" or to that degree yet, 22orbs in. Maybe later?

Edit:That mechanic is cool and all, but maybe a bit over hyped.

This game looks incredible and on top of that it looks incredibly well-designed. Can't wait to play it and I'd love to see it get a bigger reception like something like Shadow Complex did.

Yeah, me too, and unfortunately he does it in every puzzle game he QLs. Jeff and I both made the realization at the same time (i.e. immediately upon walking into the room) but I hate the way Patrick still tries to play it out like a "oh man, I'm struggling here, let me fail the puzzle 2-3 times before I make the connection for the viewer."

I kind off like it. But then, I might have a different view on Quick Looks. I don't use them that much for purchasing decisions. I often already made up my mind whether to get a game or not before a QL is posted. It's only with indie games or other low profile games I haven't heard of before (like this game) that I check the Quick Look out to see if I should get it.

For this game, the look already sold me. About 3,5 minutes in I already decided to purchase it. I could have closed the QL, but I find QL's entertaining. That's mostly why I watch them. The only other games in recent memory besides this where I watched it for purchasing advice were Don't Starve and Prison Architect. With both those games I also decided to get the game about 10 minutes in. PA was like an 1,5 hour QL. I kept watching because it was fun.

I find this fun to watch, so no problem for me.
