Quick Look: The Fancy Pants Adventure

Man, the mechanics look like fun. But the rest of the game doesn't really do it for me. Not quite as fancy as advertised, I'd say.

Patrick reminds me of Rorie.

I don't feel the GB crew looked at this well enough. It's sonic + N with a whimsical overtone. You're supposed to have fun and get distracted by random adventures (fable) to enjoy the heart of the game. Also the shell goes in the hole with the flag.

This looks cool. I've always kinda wanted to play something with the N style physics put into a more traditional Mario style game.

I like this new Patrick gentleman. I like him very much.

I can't figure out why Ryan was trying to speed run the levels of a game he isn't familiar with.  Isn't the point to run around collecting things and finding the secrets?

Ryan Davis mentioned Home Movies.  I am a happy duder.

I really don't like how this game looks.

(looking into a mirror) Fancypants Fancypants Fancypants *poof* he appears *poof* (this is a candyman reference with no punchline and completely random if you haven't figured it out yet)

From the look, doesnt remind me of the gameplay in meatboy OR n+. It rather reminds me of Commander Keen, Super Mario and Sonic in equal parts.

edt: I don't know how they couldnt figure that some people might have fun playing around with the mechanics. To me it looks likes an appealing game. Not every game has to be stressfull/complicated/motivated. Sometimes for example I wish I could play Meat Boy decently when Im drunk ;).

The level select music in this game reminds me of "Mama Told Me Not to Come," by Three Dog Night.

So happy to have Mr. Klepek on GB, he was great in this quick look.  Cannot wait for more.

Loved this game on Miniclip.com ,so glad its came to XBLA, will get it when i got the dough.

I think Patrick has been a great addition to the the Bombsquad, seems genuinely funny and not like he's trying too hard. That grates on me on a lot of other gaming sites, but everything here fits together so naturally. Can't think of another site I'd even think of subscribing to.

They seemed pretty rough on this game, but I thought it looked cool.

Hated Klepek when he would sit in on 1up Yours, hoping he's become less annoying and squeaky since then.

Well, I do like wall jumps. I'll check out the demo, looks quite fun.

Really diggin' the progrock soundtrack.

Finally watching this. I loved the flash game a looong time ago, it was enchanting with the amazing music, also the animation of the jumps looked great. Hope this stays true.
Edit: YES, the music, and OMG the boing jumping vaulting upside down craziness. This is GREAT.

Fancy Pants is awful. One of the worst flash games out there. No way this will be good. 

I know it might be a bit too late to be asking this question, but who the hell is Patrick Klepek? I just remembered he appeared in this quick look and now he's become part of the Giant Bomb crew. I don't mind him because he seems like a cool guy, but I am curious.
