Oh snap! I thought we'd skip a week due to Alex's vacation. What a pleasant surprise.

Oh so when they said they were taking a week off they meant they'd recorded last episode a long time ago and not immediately before they uploaded it last week.

you're right about the corporate shenanigans but they go into it alot more in Noveria. And the way it seems to be handled is by the companies themselves ie. the Gianna Parasini stuff

I'm commenting now, but I usually save these episodes until Friday and I love to watch them with a snack after work to start the weekend off right :)

This is currently my favorite video series around, and I can't wait to sit back and watch the adventure.

Rule of thumb when it comes to the very uncomplicated speech system :

up=Paragon option / general affirmation.

Middle= No commitment.

down= Renegade option / general negation.

If you want "something" to happen you usually go up. If you want it to stop, you usually go down.

Not to spoil but I really hope Vinny tells Alex how awesome Kaiden is in combat in ME3 especially for Biotic Detonations and also I hope he knows about the infinite Paragon/Renegade glitch on Noveria and also brings Liara on that mission.

Oh god. Are they doing the moon mission? I anticipate Alex dying many, many, many times on that one. Damn rocket drones.

It's Lance Hendrickson alright! I've been waiting for Vinny to tell Alex, assuming Alex loves Lance Hendrickson.

@alex I don't know if you've noticed or not, but on the right side of the conversation wheel, the top option is always paragon, the middle is neutral, and the bottom is renegade.

I thought you could romance Garrus. Huh.

Paragon playthroughs are just no fun.

That's only in Mass Effect 2. I thought you could date Tali here if you were male, but apparently that's also ME2. Kaidan, Ashley and Liara is what you got, and conveniently, none of them are in the party in 2. Not romancing really is the right move here.

I did a full trilogy playthrough where I only romanced Kaidan, no one else over all 3 games, it was very moving imo. ilu Kaidan even though no one else does. ;_;

@redhotchilimist: Liara fighting alongside you in the Shadowbroker DLC was some of the coolest shit. Still can't believe Lair of the Shadowbroker didn't win best DLC that year.

Liara has one of the coolest fuckin arcs in sci-fi, imo. I hooked up w/ her in ME ten years ago cause I kinda hated everyone else, but by the time ME3 came out I was like "hell yeah I chose the dopest mother fucker in the galaxy"

For a while, I would use the name "Nassana Dantius" for my MMO chracters.

I think its clear Vinny remembers none of the side missions at this point.

When I want to let someone down slowly, I tend to quietly stare at them directly in the eyes for a minute or two first.

I just wanna say - I had my doubts when I realized they were doing a Mass Effect playthru.. I didnt know if itd be entertaining or not.. but i am loving this series. I never intended to play ME1 thru again, but riding along with Alex and Vinny has been a great trip so far. Keep up the good work, GB!

Hi Alex, real quick protip for the chatwheel stuff. USUALLY everything on the right side will progress the convo further, and everything on the left is lore-related. USUALLY if you hit anything on the right, you won't be able to revisit anything that was on the left. Hope that helps, love the series.

I was thinking the Class Specialization was a milestone achieving a specific level (since it seems like a pretty major part of your character development, surely it would be "unavoidable") but nope! I did a quick Google and apparently it really is the reward for this very specific and totally optional side mission (Assignment) - Weird!

Anyway Alex's starting class that he chose when making his character was Vanguard and so yes, the Shock Trooper selection "replaces" the Vanguard skill tree, but AFAIK you retain all of its original bonuses. Shock Trooper is also a very good and fun choice. Note that in the Squad menu you can see what Class a party member is because it says under their name in the top left of the screen.

It really sounds like Nassana was voiced by the girl who voiced Azula from Avatar: The Last Airbender. Does anyone know if she is?

As much as i love mass effect 1, so many of the side missions are really bad and use the same buildings over and over again. Almost that i would recomend to just skip all side stuff and just do main missions

Female Shepard romancing Liara was such a controversy at the time at Fox news.

I didn't romance anyone in my "canon" playthrough of the trilogy as a female Shepard but I have romanced pretty much everyone in subsequent playthroughs. I like most of the characters. Tali, Jacob, Garrus, Ashley are probably the favorites though.
