Is the sound for the intro broken for anyone else? Once they start talking it's fine, but the splash screen sound is nonexistent for me other than a glitchy noise at the end.

I caught the end of this when it was live, and at the time I thought Alex was being overly negative towards it. Now that I've watched the beginning of it, I totally get the strong reaction.

I'm still interested in this, though. I thought some of the later stuff was funny and interesting in the right ways. It's weird in a way that makes me want to see all of it. I think the poor way it handles the subject matter, however, is gonna probably spoil what might otherwise be a pretty good game.

Man that dialogue, oof! It’s so bad that I kinda want Brad and Alex to suffer through it for our amusement.

This game may not show the most tact with its subject matter, but I'm still glad that there are people making weird stuff that goes against the grain in the industry.

I can think of no better duo for this game than Alex's biting commentary and GB's resident cringe emote.

I really hate the mending of a broken relationship media trope that we're seeing at play here, but I am actually a pretty big fan of Hazelight's co op focused games.

So I'm looking forward to playing this with my partner next week. Hopefully we can laugh at some of the stupidity in dialogue/scenes together the same way we did in A Way Out.

Unfortunately, I think there will be ten better games than this by the end of the year.

It'd be great if Indie game developers could make a game not about 1. broken relationships 2. the crushing experience of living under capitalism, or 3. mental illness. I mean, those are all worthwhile topics, but they're not the only topics.

Also I hope Brad and Alex finish this on stream at some point, I very much enjoyed the dynamic.

I'm all up for seeing this continued. I did not expect it to go full Viva la Revolución on us :D

Hot take: I think this looks visually terrific and dare I say it, quite charming.

Oh and my prediction is they are 100% not getting back together at the end, but they'll both be happy, understand each other better and be caring co-parents.

This is as if someone watched Toy Story and took all the wrong lessons from it.

The game mechanically and visually looks fine, but I gotta be with Alex on this one. I would not be able to sit through an entire game of this insufferable writing.

Yeah, for sure the story is going to end up being Marriage Story or some variation.

While the gameplay is nothing new, it seems to have enough charm to pull it off. I'm not a huge fan of the quippy back & forths, but it does give it the tone of a family movie which fits the game quite well. This game would be insufferable without decent voice acting, so luckily the actors seem to give it their best. All in all, it seems to be about a 7/10, 7,5/10 kind of thing.

This was really fun to watch. I hope Brad and Alex play through the rest on the site.

I'm hoping it ends with the slow realization that these two people just don't belong together, and start being more effective apart. But something tells me that won't work from a gameplay perspective.

edit: awwhh, this doesn't seem so bad. Like others are saying the acting seems to pick up a lot of the slack. I hate the very motion-tracked animation of the 2 playable characters in cutscenes, though, I gotta say. They could have sealed the "Disney/Pixar" vibe with some hand-animated characters.

This Redwall reboot is crazy.

The story is stupid and the graphics are meh, but the platforming looks solid and there have been some charming bits, like the wild bosses.

Well, this looks pretty modern in some of the wrong ways.

I do admire the spirit of doing something different. That has appeal. Something though, comes off just short of a bit mean and knowing on the side. It's like a third influence in the game.

Sure seems well done in presentation and such.

..this seems like insane trash, in an insanely trashy way. Joss Whedon continues to be the worst thing that ever happened to media.

This is a pity as Josef Fares' prior games, while often a little weak in very key gameplay and over-simplification of themes areas, were pretty good and iterating on somewhat new gimmick ideas. I'd take A Way Out and Brothers over this any day, still. With that being said the actual levels look quite fun as a relaxing co-op platformer, and I'm a sucker for anything which visually reminds me of The Borrowers or Micro Machines. But with the very overdone theme/character approach it's definitely a deterrent.

'Is there any way we could take a lot of The Borrowers and make it distressingly irritating, and a complete anti-education this could provide to children and young people related to relationship deterioration?' I mean, for a game which feels like it's made for a younger audience it's just a bit...tacky?

I do wish there were more full on voice actors and less actors-as-voice actors used in bigger budget media and art too, but that's a greater issue across all of things.

This makes me think about Ryckert trolling everyone whenever there's a co-op game, and how this game might just lead to his divorce.

100%, yes it's not some AAAA gold star production but not everything has to be. This is cool and weird as shit and I like that they went for it.

@daavpuke: weird, all over the net this game is getting positive takes on the story and gameplay variety. Another time I get a completely different take from gb crowd and reality lol. Gotta play this game asap. edit: 86/100 on metacritic. Something's off.

@development: From the ign review it seems the opposite. If you want them to not like each other or come to terms that their relationship ran its course. They have a section were they use magnets and opposites: attract. Very cute, as it opens the "door" in their relationship. Symbolic stuff like that leads me to think its the positive take on trying to gain the spark in a relationship by remembering why your in one.

This is a weird brand of existential horror that I'm not into.

This game looks fun and actually interesting. All they talk about on podcasts and videos is for new things to be tried, quirky stories, just something new. Well, here is a story that is trying something and I think it looks pretty damn good. Not sure why all the negativity through the whole video.
